General Information
For fall 2020, International Languages credit courses will take place in a secure, virtual environment, consisting of synchronous and asynchronous learning.
Weekend classes will return to in-person instruction in physical classrooms once is it deemed safe to do so.
VIRTUAL CLASSES
International Languages classes will take place in a secure, virtual environment consisting of:
- Synchronous learning – Engaging and interactive virtual, live class time with an IL teacher and fellow students (Google Meet or other interactive online applications) .
- Asynchronous learning – Engaging activities provided by the IL teacher to be completed by the student online and off-line (assignments/projects, group work).
- A combination of oral communication, reading and writing in the target language.
- Inclusive practices that continue to be practiced through instructional strategies and communication with parents and students for an equitable and accessible environment.
- If a student would like to participate in more than one class (ex. both morning and afternoon), the second class must be in a different language or subject to non-funded status.
- As always, parent/guardian support is encouraged.
GENERAL INFORMATION
The high school credit courses are overseen by the principal of Éducation permanente, CECCE, and funded by the Ministry of Education of Ontario.
The credit course program (secondary) offers international language credit courses:
- To students in Grades 9 to 12
- Saturdays, from September to June
- 3.25 hours per week, excluding holiday weekends
- Students will be placed in a credit level by the ILP administration according to Ministry-required prerequisites
- Students can earn up to three credits (one credit per year). The credit levels are as follows:
- Level 1 – ‘BD’ Grade 10 credit (prerequisite: None)
- Level 2 – ‘CU’ Grade 11 credit (prerequisite: completion of Level 1)
- Level 3 – ‘DU’ Grade 12 credit (prerequisite: completion of Level 2)
All students are welcome regardless of their cultural and/or linguistic identity. Priority is given to those students working towards their high school diploma.
The ILP reserves the right to cancel a course due to an insufficient number of student registrations.

Registration
***Registration for the 2020-2021 school year is now closed. Please check back in Spring 2021 for the 2021-2022 school year.

HOW TO REGISTER
Please see registration steps below :
1. Complete online registration (Google Form);
2. Complete online payment for out-of-province students (Québec residents, international students) you will receive a confirmation of payment email from (a) Moneris and (b) CECCE.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO REGISTER
To include with the online registration :
- Report card with legal name and OEN number – For Ontario high school students; and (if applicable)
- Proof of any prerequisite IL credit (transcript, report card) – For students who completed IL credit outside of CECCE;
In addition :
As per the Ontario Ministry of Education requirements, non-CECCE students must demonstrate proof of the following. Please present your proof of residence as well as proof of status in Canada to an IL administrator on-site on a predetermined date and location. Further details to be shared with students and parents shortly.
- Proof of residence – Agreement of Purchase and Sale, Utility Bill, Property Tax, Home phone/Cable/Internet Bill, Bank/Credit Card Statement (Note: Driver’s License, health cards and cell phone bill are not accepted)
- Proof of status in Canada –
- If the student is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident – Must show proof of valid…
- Canadian passport;
- Canadian birth certificate;
- Canadian baptismal certificate;
- Canadian permanent resident card (or other equivalency ex. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) Stage 1 acceptance letter if application in progress)
- If the student is a non-Canadian citizen – Parent/guardian must show proof of valid …
- Canadian work permit;
- Canadian Study permit (of student or of parent/legal guardian);
- Canadian Diplomat or Ministry permit (of student or parent/legal guardian);
- Refugee or asylum seeker confirmation or claim application (of student or parent/legal guardian);
- Visitor permit (of student)
